Review: Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Morning Light

*This review contains products which were purchased by me for review. All opinions are my own.*

Good evening, all! I hope you had an easy Monday coming off of a wonderful weekend. I know I had a great one- I got to meet up with Julie, the maker of Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer & blogger of Wishes of a Blue-Eyed Girl! We went shopping at LUSH, MAC, Macy's and also went dusty hunting. I snagged a few black label polishes, my proudest one being Standing Room Only Silver. WOW- is that bad boy holographic or what?! I really miss OPI's old holographic polishes. Nothing can compare to the old school holos! She & I had a fantastic time hanging out on Saturday. I can't wait to see her again & do some more damage to my wallet!

Julie is the brains and talent behind Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer. She is currently in beta mode and is testing out polishes before she sells/makes a grand appearance to the masses, which is very smart. She has a small Facebook group that is dedicated to selling her polishes in a limited number of batches. Fortunately for me, I am a member of her group. Some polishes are staples in her collection, others are just a prototype that some of us lucky girls get to try out & send her our feedback. One of the polishes from her core line is Morning Light.

My bottle is a custom, I guess you could say. I requested no butterfly shaped glitter in my bottle. The original, however, contains everything in this photo with the addition of butterflies. Morning Light is described as a pale pink base with green shimmer, hexes and squares in orange/green iridescent, pastel green, moss green, purple, yellow, and hot pink, hot pink stars, and aqua butterflies. Perfect color for Summer!

I love that this color can be applied over another color as a tinted glitter topcoat or layered by itself. All of my photos depict the nail polish without 'undies' (no nail polish underneath). This is strictly Morning Light with three coats. Once dried, I applied HK Girl topcoat (purchased from Jill over at Glisten & Glow).

The application was flawless. The polish is fluid- not runny and not clumpy/gooey. There was no foul smell. A coat of HK Girl quick drying topcoat smoothed out my mani and made it look like glass.

I love that Julie takes the time to listen to her fan base,  and takes the time to test out her creations rather than rushing to get the stock out to make a profit. As soon as her line is available to the public I will be sure to let my readers know!

Keep your eyes peeled for four more additional reviews of nail polishes by Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer! Until then, take care!
